Wileen Tan Female Personal Trainer Brisbane at The Evolved All Female Gym

Meet Wileen | Female Personal Trainer Brisbane

If you’ve ever felt unsure about stepping into a gym, worried about doing it wrong, or wondered whether you really belong there you’re not alone.

Many women share those exact fears, no matter their age or fitness level.

At The Evolved All Female Gym in Brisbane, we know the hardest part isn’t always the workout itself. It’s the first step.

That’s why our trainers aren’t just here to coach you they’re here to guide you, support you, and show you what’s possible when you believe in yourself.

This is the story of Wileen, one of our dedicated personal trainers in Brisbane.

Her journey into fitness wasn’t straightforward, and that’s exactly what makes her such a powerful guide for women starting their own.

From Lab Coats to Lifting Weights

Before she became a trainer, Wileen’s life looked very different. She studied genetics and psychology, spending long hours in labs and research spaces. On paper, she was excelling. But inside, something didn’t feel right.

“I was good at it, but it didn’t fulfil me the way connecting with people does,” she recalls. “I couldn’t imagine sitting in a room facing white walls for nine hours a day for the rest of my life.”

Like many women, she found herself caught in routines that looked successful from the outside but left her feeling stuck.

Finding Her Own Turning Point

University was demanding, and the pressure was heavy. That’s when Wileen discovered strength training. At first, it wasn’t about chasing results. It was about carving out one hour each day that was hers alone.

“Going to the gym became a space where I could just zone out. It wasn’t about quick fixes or instant results. It was about showing up for myself,” she explains.

The gym gave her what textbooks and research never could: energy, confidence, and the simple joy of feeling strong.

The Struggles and the Lessons

Wileen is the first to admit it wasn’t always smooth. She faced doubts about lifting too heavy, worries about getting “too bulky,” and moments where progress felt frustratingly slow.

“There were times I got caught up in chasing numbers and forgot to enjoy the process,” she says. “I had to learn to bring the fun back, to remember why I started.”

Through discipline, consistency, and a willingness to keep showing up even when it was tough, she built not only physical strength but resilience that carries into every part of her life.

The Breakthrough: Building Confidence Through Strength

The more she trained, the more she realised strength wasn’t about appearance. It was about feeling capable.

“The gym taught me discipline. Motivation only gets you so far, but discipline is what carries you through on the hard days,” she shares.

What began as a personal escape became the foundation for a career. Wileen transformed her own life and now channels that same energy into coaching women who are ready to discover their own strength.

Why Wileen Coaches

Wileen believes strength training is about much more than physical results.

“I know how intimidating it feels to be new to the gym. That’s why I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where women can push themselves at their own pace,” she says.

She understands that every woman comes with her own story, her own fears, and her own goals. For her, coaching is about building trust and showing clients they’re stronger than they think.

Wileen's Most Rewarding Coaching Moment

One of Wileen’s favourite memories is training alongside friends during her early gym days.

“It took the pressure off,” she laughs. “We could just have fun together, cheer each other on, and still get the work done.”

That simple joy of sharing the experience with others still shapes how she coaches today. She knows fitness should feel empowering, not punishing.

Helen, 54

"Postmenopause hit hard for Helen, constant fatigue, a busy home life, and the weight just wouldn’t budge. With a move, rep hockey, and full-time work, she had every reason to pause. But by committing to smart strength training at The Evolved, Helen rebuilt her body. at 54"

Tash, Night Shift Nurse

“After a serious health scare, Tash turned her life around. As a night-shift nurse with a Coca-Cola habit, she swapped cardio for strength training, dropped 20kg, and reclaimed her confidence, all while working nights. Now, she’s not just healthier… she’s unstoppable.”

“Two full-body front-facing photos of a woman showcasing muscle definition and fat loss. Transition from a pink to red sports bra highlights increased lean muscle mass and visible abdominal strength.”

Vicki, Finance Industry

“At 50, Vicki was training hard but getting nowhere. After just 7 weeks at The Evolved, she increased her protein, lifted smarter, and unlocked visible abs, a 60kg squat, and her first chin-up. Her secret? Recovery, strength and the right plan.”

Eleni Swapped Pilates for Strength Training and Unlocked Strength at 63

“Leni left a clinical rehab gym at 63 to chase a younger more energetic vibe. Now she lifts 40kg, rocks her favourite black skirt to a Goo Goo Dolls concert, and feels 30 years younger. She’s proof that age doesn’t define your limits, strength does.”
